FORT SMITH, Ark. – Cameron men's golf senior
Dario Gabriel matched his best finish of his career, tying for second at the Arkansas-Fort Smith Hardscrabble Invitational on Tuesday.
Final Results
In the Aggies final tournament before the Lone Star Conference Championship, Gabriel finished the invite strong with a career-low 67 during the final round on Tuesday. He recorded three birdies during the last 18 holes, finishing tied for second with a three-round score of 211.
Statistically, Gabriel finished the tournament with seven birdies, 41 pars, a three under par-5 score, a score of four over on the par-4 holes, and an even score on the par-3's.
As a team, CU's third round score of 288 matches a season low for 18 holes.
Niels Sorensen carded a 72 in the final round, carding a 227 for the tournament and tying for 30th, while
Suvansh Arora placed 44th with a 54-hole score of 238.
Additionally,
Mason LeGrange recorded a 71 during the third round and
Devin Whipple shot a 78.
Texas A&M-Commerce moved up two spots on Tuesday to win the tournament title, shooting a 852 in three rounds. They came in three strokes better than Arkansas-Fort Smith, while Southwestern Oklahoma finished in third with an 858.
Gabriel missed out on playing in a playoff for the individual title by just one strokes, as the Lion's Blake Hartford finished in first with a three-round scored of 210; SWOSU's Heston Brown tied with Gabriel for second place.
Next up on the schedule for the Aggies is the LSC Championship, which will be held at the Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene, Texas, April 22-23.
