LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron men's tennis took care of business on Sunday by beating St. Edward's 4-0 in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional 2 to secure their spot in the Sweet 16.
 
Entering the postseason as the two seed in the region, the No. 13 ranked Aggies got out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a pair of doubles wins. The 44th ranked duo of Przemyslaw Zielinski and Mritunjay Badola earned a quick 6-1 win at two, but SEU answered with a 6-4 win at three. Not long after that, the No. 15 ranked pair of Julen Gutierrez and Vinicius Santos defeated their opponent 6-4 to secure the doubles point.
 
In singles play, Pierre Marion scored the first win for the Black and Gold, defeating his opponent at six by a score of 6-3, 6-0. Zielinski secured CU's third point with a 6-1, 6-4 win at four. Cameron was in the position to win all four of the other matches, but it was Badola who was the first to finish with a 6-3, 6-2 win at two to give the Aggies the win.
 
Cameron, who is now 19-4 on the season, will head to the DII National Championships in Altamonte Springs, Fla., May 21-25. The official date, time, and opponent of their first match is still to be determined.   

This trip to the Nation Tournament will be the fourth time in the last five years that the CU men have made it to the round of 16.
