WACO, Texas – The Aggie men's tennis team is just one step away from being both the Lone Star Conference regular season and tournament championship, as they beat Western New Mexico 4-0 in the semifinals on Friday.

The No. 13 ranked Black and Gold got off to a strong start, winning 6-2 at both the one and two doubles spots to take an early 1-0 lead in the match.

Cameron then got 6-2, 6-1 wins from Oscar del Granado at four and Pierre Marion at six and then a 6-3, 6-1 win from Julen Gutierrez at No. 5 to secure the 4-0 win. In the unfinished matches, Vinicius Santos and Mritunjay Badola were both up one set to none, while Przemyslaw Zielinski lost his first set.

The win is CU's 18th of the season and 15th in a row. They will face off against MSU Texas in the LSC Championship final on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Waco. Cameron defeated the Mustangs 5-2 in the regular season finale on April 25.
