LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University spirit team will be holding tryouts for students who would like to be a part of the 2019-20 cheer and dance teams.

New head coach Adla-Marie Burke is searching for Cameron students who are interested in being on the Aggie cheer and dance teams for the upcoming school year. The cheer and dance teams support the volleyball and basketball teams at home games while also representing the university in the community and on campus.

There will be three open gyms prior to the tryout dates. All three will be held in the Aggie Rec Center from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The dates are July 8, July 10, and July 17. At these open gyms, prospective members will be able to learn the choreography and skills needed for the respective tryouts.

On July 19, Coach Burke will hold the dance tryout in the Aggie Gym. Registration begins at 4:45 p.m. and the tryouts will begin at 5:15. The next day, July 20, the cheer tryouts will be held in the Aggie Gym with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. and tryouts starting at 9 a.m.

For both tryouts bring the tryout packet linked above, a picture of yourself, $25 (make checks payable to Cameron University Spirit Team), and an unofficial transcript or acceptance letter to Cameron.
