SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Cameron women's tennis program's short fall season came to an end on Saturday as they wrapped up the ASU Fall Invitational.

After an up-and-down first day of matches on Friday, CU head coach
Josh Cobble was able to see some improvement from his athletes that he can use when preparing for the spring.
The most successful weekend came from second-year player
Julianne Garcia, who completed her perfect weekend with two wins on Saturday to top her flight No. 5 bracket. The Brisbane, Australia product started the day with a 6-2, 6-2 win over DBU's Leslie Omeire and then defeated Angelo State's Anna Schneeman 2-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8 to win the flight.
In singles flight No. 1, transfer
Karolina Glowinska rebounded from a 1-1 Friday record to go 2-0 during Saturday's action. The Opalenie, Poland native defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville's Alessa Maier 6-3, 6-3 in her third match of the invite and then ended the weekend with a 6-3, 6-4 win over DBU's Taylor Leslie.
Melany Opolz competed in flight No. 3 and bounced back from an 0-2 first day to beat UT Tyler's Eva Riekenbrauck 7-5, 6-3 to end her weekend 1-2 in singles play.
In flight No. 4,
Pilar Jaurena went 2-0 on Saturday with a 6-3, 6-4 win over UT Permian Basin's Sofia Rischmagui and a 6-3, 6-2 win over TAMUK's Stephanie Baerman; she finished the invite with a 3-1 record.
Additionally, freshman
Lia Woods lost both of her Saturday matches playing in singles flight No. 6.
Cameron has just one duo finish competition in doubles play, as Garcia and Woods, who were playing in flight No. 3, lost both of their Saturday matches 8-7 (5) to a duo from UTPB and 8-6 to a pair from Kingsville.
The Aggie women will head to the winter offseason with their eyes set on a season start date of Feb. 6 at Division I UT Arlington. The CU men will compete in their Fall Invitational this coming Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23-24, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
