WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Cameron men's tennis program competed in their one and only fall event on Friday, the Singles Falls Invitational hosted by Midwestern State.

Hosted by the Mustangs, the Singles Fall Invitational took the place of the annual ITA Regionals, as each of the Lone Star Conference members teams competed in the event at the MSU Tennis Center.

For Cameron, top second-year player Bruno Vietri played, who played in Flight 1 – Pool A, lost his only match on Friday, falling 7-5, 6-2 to MSU's top player Alex Martinez Roca. In Fight 2 – Pool A, Maycon Dias won his first match against UT Tyler's Alberto Rodriguez 6-2, 6-0, before falling to the Mustang's Angel Palacios 6-2, 7-5 in his second match.

Carlos Vidal played in Flight 2 – Pool B and lost his first match 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3) to DBU's Gabe Garrido, and then had to withdraw from his second match against UT Tyler's Martin Thomas. Newcomer Alvaro Chavez won his first match 6-2, 6-1 over UTPB's Vassanth Mathan, but also had to withdraw from his second match in Flight 3 – Pool A.

In the remaining three flights, Gabe Wilbourn lost to MSU's Jean Muniz 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-3), Maxime Volkaert beat MSU's Chris Doyal 6-4, 6-2, and Derek Nix lost to UTPB's Diego Martinez 6-3, 6-4.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Aggie men had to pull out of the remaining Friday and Saturday matches.

With their short fall season now on the backburner, the Aggie men can now prepare for the spring schedule, which is set to begin on Feb. 6, 2021 against Division I UT Arlington.
