LAWTON -- Cameron falls in game three of their series against No. 12 Angelo State despite homers by
Kalen Haynes and
Jordan Harrison-Dudley in a run ruled shorten game.
After falling in both games of Saturday's doubleheader against ASU, the Aggie baseball team saw game three get away from them early on.
The Rams handled the CU pitching staff on Sunday, including knocking out their starting hurler,
Marcos Feria, not even two innings into his start. CU tossed five arms out there against ASU with
Julian Macias, who came into the game with two outs in the seventh and recorded the final out for the Aggie staff, was the only hurler not to see a run come across on his watch. The pitching staff combined for nine walks, five strikeouts, four hit batters, and 15 hits in the 18-2 loss.
April has been kind to
Jordan Harrison-Dudley who collected three more hits in this contest while belting a homer. He was the only Black and Gold member to record multiple hits on Sunday. The squad combined for eight hits, with
Jayce Clem,
Erik Ohman,
Beau Williams,
Julian Macias, and
Kalen Haynes adding the other five.
Haynes launched a ball over 400-feet to notch his first home run of the season in the second inning, but not before the Rams scored nine runs on two outs in the top of the frame to break the came open. Harrison-Dudley hit his solo shot in the fifth before ASU put up their second crooked number, a six-run frame, in the seventh.
The Aggies have now lost nine straight series and are just 1-15 in their last 16 contests, moving to 5-28 overall and 5-22 in league play.
Cameron's final road series will take place next weekend, April 30-May 1, when they travel south to face Texas A&M International. The three-game series will begin Friday with a doubleheader beginning at noon before wrapping up on Saturday with a single game scheduled for 1 p.m.
