WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Cameron has three individuals advance to Flight championships on Friday. The Aggies' three doubles teams advanced to the semifinals Saturday at the Weeks Park Tennis Center.
Kristian Kubik and Joao Duleba fell to Juan Gonzalez and Marin Jurkovic from Southeastern Oklahoma State in the semifinals 8-5. The CU duo rebounded to take third place in the Flight A doubles, taking down Washburn's team of Miquel Perez and Yoshinobu Nakatsuji 9-7.
In Flight B doubles, the team of Emilio Seelbach and Alvaro Chavez dropped their match against Aaron Osmond and Fernando Docters from Ouachita Baptist 8-4. Seelbach and Chavez fell in the third-place game to WU's Moritz Pieper and Daniel Bird 8-5.
Baptiste Mercier and Iban Martin-Legeay would win twice on Saturday to take the Flight C doubles crown. The Aggies pair knocked off Midwestern State's Charles Heffernan and Stefan Andrei 8-5 before beating Daniel Harkin and Benjamin DuBois of WU 8-3.
Duleba would claim the Flight B championship by defeating Stipan Madzar of SOSU 6-3, 6-3.
Kubik took down OBU's Matias Parzajuk to win the Flight C title 6-4, 2-6, 10-8.
Seelbach defeated SOSU's Gen Naraya, who retired due to an injury, in the championship on Saturday. Seelbach was leading 6-5 at the time of the injury.
Martin-Legeay beat Marcus Del Rosario from SOSU on Saturday for third place 6-4, 6-1.
In Flight F, Chavez would take the championship after knocking off OBU's Yosua Lumbanradja 6-2, 6-2.
Baptiste would take down WU's Miquel Perez 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 to close out play at the MSU-Texas Invitational.
