CANYON, Texas – The Aggie baseball team was unable to hold off a series sweep against No. 5 West Texas A&M on Sunday, losing 21-3 in the series finale.

After losing in decisive fashion in the first two games of the series, Cameron was just a pitch away from taking down WT in game three on Saturday afternoon before falling by one run in extra innings. Sunday's contest was another dominant win for the hometown Buffaloes.

Cameron started out the game with a 1-0 lead as
Beau Williams hit a two-out solo home run to right center. WT answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame and then added two more in the second before a six-run third inning.

The Aggies' second and third runs came in the fourth as
Nik Sanchez drove in
Jayce Clem on a RBI single and then
Ryan Allen added to his impressive weekend at the plate with an RBI single that brought home
Jordan Harrison-Dudley.

All 10 of the Buff's final runs came with two outs as they scored two in the bottom of the fourth, put up another six-run frame in the fifth, and then added two more in the sixth before winning in seven innings.

Cameron totaled just five hits in the loss, striking out nine times as a team and stranding four runners on base. Williams, Sanchez, Allen,
Colby Flood, and Zac Delong each had one hit in the seven-inning contest.

The Aggies used four pitchers, with
Weston Max giving up four earned runs on three hits and three walks in the first to receive the loss. Both
Julian Macias and Clem gave up five earned runs during their outings and freshman
Matthew Scott gave up four in his 1.1 innings on the mound.

With their first series loss of the season under their belt, Cameron, now 4-8 on the year, will host Eastern New Mexico for a four-game set next weekend. Game one is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at McCord Field.
