Harrison-Dudley goes deep twice, McClenan strikes out 10 in UTPB series finale

ODESSA, Texas – Powered by the bat of Jordan Harrison-Dudley and the arm of Clayton McClenan the Aggies dominated the final game of their series against UT Permian Basin on Monday, winning 15-2 in seven innings.

After losing the first two games against the Falcons, Cameron bounced back with a 9-4 win in game three and looked to earn a split of the series in Monday's finale. They did just that thanks to a 2-home run, 6-RBI day from Harrison-Dudley and a 10-strikeout game from McClenan.

The Aggie offense caught fire early getting two runs on a double by Kalen Haynes in the second and then two more on Harrison-Dudley's first homer of the day and sixth of the season in the third.

Cameron then put up five runs in the fifth to give them a 9-0 lead over the Falcons. Jayce Clem, Harrison-Dudley, Colby Flood, and Ryan Allen all had RBI hits in the frame while Julian Macias had a sacrifice fly to start the rally.

After UTPB scored single runs in the fourth and fifth on solo homers the Aggies got three back as Erik Ohman walked with the bases loaded and then Flood and Allen scored on a fielder's choice and an error off the bat of Nik Sanchez

Harrison-Dudley added to that by going deep again, tying the LSC lead with his seventh home run of the year, this time a 3-run shot to put the Aggies up 15-2.

Cameron totaled 14 hits and 14 of the 15 runs scored came on RBI. Harrison-Dudley went 3-5 with three runs scored and six driven in while Flood also had three hits in the win. Clem, Allen, Sanchez, and Haynes all had 2-hit outings with at least one RBI with Haynes driving in a pair of runs.

Not to be overshadowed by the CU bats, the sophomore McClenan earned his second win of the year, giving up just the two runs on five hits. His 10 K game is the first double-digit strikeout outing by an Aggie this season and he did so without walking a batter.

The Aggies improve to 8-11 on the year and 8-10 in LSC play with their third series split of the season. They will be back on their home diamond next weekend, March 18-20, when they host UT Tyler for four games. Game one is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. at McCord Field.
