LAWTON – Cameron University head women's golf coach Christi Williams has announced the 4-tournament fall schedule in which the Aggies will debut a revamped roster for the 2022-23 season.
 
Williams, who is now entering her eighth year as the head coach for the CU women's golf program, is looking to continue the trend up as she begins the new season with four tournaments in the fall to prepare her team for a 2023 postseason run. 
 
The Aggies begin the fall by making a trip to Denver, Colo., Sep. 12-13, to compete in the Colorado Christian hosted Swan Memorial at the Todd Creek Golf Course. They then head back to familiar territory when they play in the Angelo State Invitational at the Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo, Texas, Sep. 19-20.
 
Cameron's first of two tournaments in October will be the West Regional Preview hosted by Division II power DBU at the Golf Club of Dallas, Oct. 3-4. The Aggies then wrap up the fall at their annual home tournament, the Oklahoma Intercollegiate, at the Lawton Country Club, Oct. 10-11. 
 
"The program goal is to make the NCAA postseason as a team," said Williams. "I think our schedule gives us plenty of competition against some of the top teams in Division II, which will help us prepare for a postseason run in the spring."
 
Williams returns six golfers, including Ashley Davis, Ellie Fellers, and Emma Englefield, who were all three regulars in the 2021-22 lineup, and senior Molleejo Crain, junior Maelle Dreyer, and sophomore Malerie Nyberg. The big task will be replacing 5-year starter Iona Roska and 3-year starter Gerdur Ragnarsdottir. Williams has brought in one of her biggest freshman classes to date with three new Aggies, Carley Bolding, Maria Jose Savoca, and Mollie Wheeler. 
 
"We are definitely younger going into the year," said Williams about her 2022-23 roster. "Our recruiting class is very talented and all three will step in and battle for qualifying spots right away. We do have a good group of returners with Ashley, Emma, and Ellie getting a lot of experience the past few seasons."
 
Bolding, a fall signee, was a standout prep golfer in the state of Texas, playing for Mansfield Legacy HS. Wheeler comes to Cameron from Sussex, England and just recently helped Seaford College win the British Schools National Championship. Savoca comes to Lawton from Cochabamba, Bolivia and is ranked in the top-900 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and is the No. 1 ranked female golfer in Bolivia. 
 
Williams hopes that her new additions plus the experience of her returners can help the Aggie women's golf program continue to push for both a Lone Star Conference Championship and a team berth in the NCAA Division II postseason.
