Cameron Led by Mercier at CU Invite

LAWTON, Okla.– Baptiste Mercier wins at the CU Invite for Cameron at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex over the weekend.

Mercier would defeat Aguirre of Lubbock Christian 6-2, 6-2, the takedown Cowley County's Zgraggen 7-6(4), 6-2, and take the B Flight championship with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Andrei from Midwestern State.

Thomas Cardona would start the A Flight with a win over LCU's Abamu 6-1, 6-0; he would then fall to Komangata from CC 6-3, 7-6(5). Cardona closed the invite with a win over LCU's Giese 6-1, 1-1 ret.

In C Flight, Duleba would drop his first match 7-5, 6-4 to CC's Nhavene before taking down Gutierrez 6-3, 6-2 and Laphitz 6-4, 6-0 from LCU.

Iban Martin-Legeay would fall to open play in D Flight 6-4, 6-3 to Gonzalez from CC; in his second match, Martin-Legeay would defeat Mallee from LCU 6-4, 6-3, and end the tournament with a 6-3, 6-1 win over LCU's Williams.

Cameron's duo of Cardona/Tomas Almeida would make a run in the A Flight doubles, opening play with a 6-2 win over the team from LCU. Next, they would beat CC's duo 6-4 and fall to another pair from CC 6-4.

In B Flight duos, Ignacio Chavez/Martin-Legeay dropped their first match to a team from MSU 6-3; they would take down a pair from LCU 6-2 and close out the day dropping a match to another duo from LCU 6-1.

Mercier/Emilio Seelbach takes down a duo from LCU to start the day 6-2 before dropping two matches to different teams from MSU with a score of 6-2, both times.
