SAN ANGELO, Texas – Ashley Davis, Maelle Dreyer, and Maria Jose Savoca led the Cameron women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Concho River Classic in San Angelo.
Cameron turned in a two-day total of 317-311—628, placing the Aggies in fourth, behind Texas A&M International and Angelo State, who shot a 611 to tie for the team titles, and Western Texas CC recorded a 622 in third place.
Dreyer scored 78-76—154 to finish in eighth place, Savoca placed ninth with a two-day total of 79-76—155 and ended tied for 10th place, Davis scored an 80-76—156 on the par 72, a 6078-yard course at the Bentwood Country Club.
The Black-and-Gold made 11 birdies in the tournament, Davis made a team-high four, Dreyer sunk three, and Ellie Fellers, Malerie Nyberg, and Savoca scored one. Emma Englefield, competing as an individual, also made two.
Nyberg finished in 29th place with a two-day score of 82-83—165, and Fellers carded an 80-6—166 to tie for 30th place.
Englefield would tie for 30th place with a two-day total of 84-82—166.
Maria Sierra Sanz from Angelo State would take the individual title with a score of 76-73—149.
The Aggies will play in the West Regional Preview in Dallas on Oct. 3-4, hosted by Dallas Baptist.
