OC faced off against UT Tyler, who upset Midwestern State 3-2 in the medal match. The Eagles would take that 4-0-1 to receive the LSC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division II South Central/West Region set for May 11-13 at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park, Calif.
The top 10 teams and four individuals not on advancing teams from both the West and South Central regions make up the field, with selection by the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Committee set for Friday, April 28, on NCAA.com.
Chris Somerfield had the best outcome during match play, as he earned a tie with OC's Alejandro Armijo as they both shot a 71.
Preston Holmes dropped his pairing with Oskari Nikku by four strokes, scoring 77.
Hunter Drotts recorded a 76 in his match, falling to Santiago Villareal by eight shots.
Hamish Murray lost by four strokes to Mateo Pulcini after carding an even par round.
In the final match, Trevor Mierl scored 76, falling to the Individual champion Exequiel Rodriguez by two shots.
