Murray Named PING All-South Central Region

NORMAN, Okla. – Hamish Murray of the Cameron men's golf team garnered PING All-South Central Region honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Murray led the Aggies with five top-10 finishes in 12 tournaments this season as CU qualified for the NCAA DII postseason back-to-back seasons under Head Coach Austin Phillips.

Murray, a sophomore from Sydney, Australia, turned in a record-breaking season for the Black-and-Gold this year. He shot an average score of 71.95 over 37.0 rounds of golf, breaking the school record that had stood since 2003-04 and was held by Owen Mahaffey.

He also broke Mahaffey's career scoring average after recording a 72.32. Murray also set the single-season record for Cameron with 128 birdies this year.

Murray earned All-Lone Star Conference postseason honors and was named the LSC Academic Player of the Year.
