Cameron University faced off against UT Permian Basin in an intense battle of skill and strategy. Cameron took an early lead in the 2nd inning with decisive hits from
Drew Durst and
Spencer Simpson. However, UT Permian Basin quickly responded, with HAGGERTY delivering key RBIs to level the score. The game remained deadlocked until the 6th inning when the Aggies surged ahead once more, courtesy of a
Wyatt Grant RBI double. Yet, UTPB refused to relent, rallying back to tie the game yet again with timely hitting. The contest stretched into extra innings, and in the 11th inning, UTPB seized the opportunity, securing the winning run when T. McDaniel was hit by a pitch, bringing in the winning run. Despite Cameron's efforts, UT Permian Basin emerged with the win by a final score of 5-4.
