Lubbock, Texas —The Cameron University Aggies faced a tough road test against Lubbock Christian this weekend, dropping both games of the doubleheader despite flashes of strong individual performances.

Game 1: Cameron 6, Lubbock Christian 15
The Aggies put up a fight early, but defensive miscues and a powerful Lubbock Christian offense proved too much to handle in a 15-6 loss.

Key Performances
  • Kaiden Boren led the way offensively, going 1-for-3 with a two-run home run.
  • Kelsey Creech provided a spark, hitting two triples while driving in a run.
  • Madysen Boutwell contributed a solo home run in a two-hit effort.
  • Chloe Middleton and Mia Garcia each launched a home run to add to Cameron's offensive output.
  • Tinley Schmidgall took the loss, giving up 10 runs (3 earned) in 3.2 innings, striking out five.

Despite collecting nine hits, the Aggies struggled defensively, committing four errors that extended innings and allowed LCU to capitalize with five extra-base hits, including two home runs.

Game 2: Cameron 1, Lubbock Christian 5

Key Performances

  • Haley Gardella provided the lone run for Cameron, blasting a solo home run in the sixth inning.
  • Kyndel McDaniel went 1-for-3 with a double.
  • Stormee Reed pitched a complete game, allowing five runs (four earned) on just four hits while striking out six.

The Aggies' offense struggled against LCU's pitching, managing only four hits and striking out five times. Meanwhile, LCU made the most of their limited opportunities, scoring in three different innings to build their lead.

Looking Ahead
After a tough beginning of the series against a strong Lubbock Christian team, Cameron will look to bounce back in their next matchup. Cleaning up defensive mistakes and finding more consistency at the plate will be crucial as they move forward in conference play.
