Lawton, Okla. – The Cameron University softball team split a doubleheader with UT Dallas on Wednesday afternoon at McMahon Field and Athletics Center.
In game one, Cameron secured a 2-0 shutout victory behind a dominant performance in the circle from Stormee Reed. After five scoreless innings, the Aggies broke through in the sixth as Madysen Boutwell delivered an RBI double, followed by an RBI single from Rylee Ross to plate the second run. Reed was outstanding, tossing a complete game while allowing just three hits and striking out nine to keep the Comets off the board.
In game two, Cameron was unable to carry over the momentum, falling 2-0 as UT Dallas scored both of its runs in the sixth inning. The Aggies were limited to just two hits offensively, while the Comets capitalized on timely hitting and aggressive base running to break the scoreless tie. Despite a solid outing from Madison Fulfer early in the game, UT Dallas used a pair of hits and a stolen base sequence to push across the decisive runs.
