Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's Tennis Battles Oklahoma State in Doubleheader

Stillwater, Okla- With winter weather playing havoc on schedules, the Men's Tennis Team picks up a late schedule addition of an exhibition doubleheader versus NCAA Division I Oklahoma State on Saturday. The Aggies showed a high level of competition against the Cowboys despite not picking up a team point. OSU picked up the doubles point with a win at #1 and #3 doubles along with a retirement due to injury at #2. The Aggies bounced back with some strong singles play, but ultimately the Cowboys picked up the win with wins against Luis Boilevin, Noe Milliard, and Lachlan Setina at #1, #2, and #6 singles leaving the rest of the Aggies unfinished in their close contests.

After lunch, the Aggies started strong with a 6-4 win at #1 doubles with first time pairing of Noe Milliard and Rhys Edwards. The Cowboys then picked up the doubles point with wins at #2 and #3 doubles. Deciding to play out the singles matches, Cameron's singles came out with a sense of determination to turn the match around. The Cowboys picked up tight wins at #1 and #2 by picking up a late break of serve in each set. At #4 Pavel Kelo was unable to hold off the charge as his opponents take the match 6-2,6-3 while Vicente Preto and Brendan Lock wrap up the end of the lineup with a pair of 6-1, 6-3 losses. The last match of the day,  #3 single Raphael Valente forced his opponent to a third set match tiebreak after the match was decided by winning the 2nd set 6-4.

With another postponement with Seward on Tuesday, the men's team will join the women's team as they travel down to Tyler, TX for the UT-Tyler Invite where they face off against nationally ranked West Florida, West Alabama, and Auburn-Montgomery the following weekend.
