Lawton, Okla. - Cameron Athletics celebrated the newest members of its Hall of Fame with the induction of the 2026 Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame Class, recognizing four individuals and one historic team for their accomplishments and lasting contributions to Cameron Athletics.
Brenna Busby '21 earned her place in the Hall of Fame following a decorated career with the Cameron softball program from 2017-21. A standout shortstop for the Aggies, Busby was named an All-American in 2019 and earned Lone Star Conference First Team All-Conference honors in each of her four seasons. She was also recognized for her work in the classroom, earning LSC Softball Academic Player of the Year honors in 2021. Busby was twice named Cameron University Female Athlete of the Year, receiving the honor in 2018 and 2019.
Jeff Hart '82 was inducted after a standout career with the Cameron football program from 1979-82. Hart made his mark as both a safety and punt returner for the Aggies, finishing his Cameron career as the program's record-holder for career interceptions and career punt returns. Known for his fearless approach as a returner, Hart went his entire Cameron career without calling for a fair catch.
Rick Goodwin was recognized for his contributions to Cameron golf, including becoming the first head coach in the history of the women's golf program in 2005. Goodwin led the Aggies through the 2015 season, highlighted by Cameron's 2007 Lone Star Conference championship, which remains the first and only conference title in program history. His impact on Cameron golf extends beyond his time leading the women's program, as Goodwin also served as an assistant with the men's golf team, including the 1983 NAIA national championship squad. Since 2015, he has continued to support the women's golf program as a volunteer assistant coach.
Jim Jackson entered the Hall of Fame after nearly two decades of leadership as Cameron's director of athletics. Jackson served in the position from 2005 until his retirement in 2024 and oversaw significant growth and improvements across the department. During his tenure, numerous Cameron athletics facilities were renovated, including McCord Baseball Field, McMahon Softball Field and Athletic Center, Aggie Gym, the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex and the Terry Bell Golf Center. Jackson also established the Cameron University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008, when the department inducted its inaugural class of 10 members.
Rounding out the 2026 class was the 1961 Cameron Football Team, one of the most accomplished teams in Cameron Athletics history. Led by head coach Leroy Montgomery, the Aggies put together a perfect 11-0 season and were selected as the junior college national champions in the final 1961 JC Gridwire poll. Cameron capped its undefeated campaign by defeating Bakersfield College in the Junior Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with 49,000 fans in attendance.
Together, the members of the 2026 Hall of Fame Class represent several generations of Cameron Athletics history, with their achievements as student-athletes, coaches and administrators leaving a lasting legacy on the Cameron University athletic department.
