Cameron Athletics to Induct 2026 Hall of Fame Class During Homecoming Weekend

LAWTON, Oklahoma – The Cameron University Athletics Department is reminding fans that the deadline to purchase tickets for the 2026 Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony and Brunch is Friday, Sept. 25. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the door. The 2026 Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame Class, featuring Brenna Busby '21, Jeff Hart '82, Rick Goodwin, Jim Jackson and the 1961 Cameron Football Team, will be formally inducted during Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the McMahon Centennial Center. The Hall of Fame Ceremony and Brunch will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tickets for the Hall of Fame Ceremony and Brunch are $35 per person and can be purchased at CameronAggies.com/HOF. The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, Sept. 25, and tickets will not be sold at the door. Following the ceremony, the 2026 Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame Class will be recognized during the Cameron Homecoming and Hall of Fame Volleyball match against Midwestern State on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2:00 p.m. in Aggie Gym. The Homecoming and Hall of Fame Volleyball match will provide fans with another opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2026 Hall of Fame Class as the inductees are recognized during the match. Established in 2007, the Cameron University Athletics Hall of Fame honors exceptional former student-athletes and coaches, outstanding teams and significant contributors. With the addition of the Class of 2026, the Hall of Fame now includes 107 inductees, including 82 former student-athletes.

2026 Cameron Athletics Hall of Fame Class

Brenna Busby '21 – Softball

A dominant shortstop for the Aggies from 2017-2021, Busby was a 2019 All-American and the 2021 Lone Star Conference Softball Academic Player of the Year. She was named LSC First-Team All-Conference four times and earned Cameron University Female Athlete of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019.

Jeff Hart '82 – Football

Hart was a key member of the Cameron football teams from 1979-1982. A standout safety and exceptional punt returner who never called for a fair catch during his career, Hart finished his career as Cameron's record-holder for most career interceptions and most career punt returns.

Rick Goodwin – Women's Golf Coach

Goodwin became the first head coach in the history of the Cameron women's golf program in 2005 and led the team through the 2015 season. His 2007 team captured the first and only Lone Star Conference championship in program history. Goodwin also served as an assistant coach for the Cameron men's golf team for several years, including the 1983 NAIA national championship team, and has served as a volunteer assistant coach for the women's golf program since 2015.

Jim Jackson – Administrator

Jackson served as Cameron's director of athletics from 2005 until his retirement in 2024. During his tenure, numerous athletics facilities were renovated, including McCord Baseball Field, McMahon Softball Field and Athletic Center, Aggie Gym, the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex and the Terry Bell Golf Center. Jackson also formed the Cameron University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008 with 10 inaugural members.

1961 Football Team

Led by head coach Leroy Montgomery, the 1961 Cameron football team finished the season with a perfect 11-0 record. The team was selected as the junior college national champion in the final 1961 JC Gridwire poll after defeating Bakersfield College in the Junior Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, in front of 49,000 fans. Three Aggie's were named junior college All-Americans, while six were selected as first-team players on the 1961 Oklahoma junior college all-star team.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the Hall of Fame Ceremony and Brunch are $35 per person and must be purchased by Friday, Sept. 25. Tickets will not be available at the door. Fans can purchase Hall of Fame Ceremony and Brunch tickets at CameronAggies.com/HOF.

Tickets for the Homecoming and Hall of Fame Volleyball match against Midwestern State University are available separately. The match will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Aggie Gym. Fans can purchase volleyball game tickets through Cameron Athletics Volleyball Tickets.

The Hall of Fame Ceremony and Brunch will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the McMahon Centennial Center, followed by the Homecoming and Hall of Fame Volleyball match against Midwestern State at 2:00 p.m. in Aggie Gym.
