Lawton, Okla. - The Cameron University Women's tennis team continued the week with a victory over Cowley College, 6-1.
The Aggies struck first in doubles, with
Jenna Goessel and
Adel Ismagulova earning a 6-1 victory on the No. 1 court. On the No. 3 court,
Alexa Lugo and
Isabella Quintero beat Cowley's Nathianelle Lee and Lisa Takamura, 6-4 to clinch the doubles point.
Alexa Garcia and
Nil Kalkavan won 7-5 on the No. 2 court to complete the doubles sweep.
In singles,
Alexa Garcia won in straight sets on the No. 3 court to put the Aggies up 2-0 in the match. Cowley got on the board, with Chiho Takeda beating
Alexa Lugo in straight sets.
Jenna Goessel picked up the straight-set victory on the No. 1 court over Cynthia Wanjala. On the No. 2 court,
Adel Ismagulova earned a three-set win, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, to clinch match point for Cameron.
Isabella Quintero went to a third-set super tiebreaker and beat Cowley's Lisa Takamura, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8, on the No. 5 court. To wrap up the day,
Daniela Maldonado won in straight sets on the No. 6 court.
