Tyler, Texas- The Cameron Women's Tennis team falls in the first of the weekends nationally ranked match ups to #25 Auburn Montgomery in Tyler, TX today. The Aggies struck first by taking the doubles point.
Jenna Goessel and
Adel Ismagulova took an early lead and were finally able to secure the win 7-5.
Isabella Quintero and
Alexa Lugo clinched the doubles point with a come from behind win getting it 6-4.
Leading into singles play
Jenna Goessel was back and forth at #1 singles ultimately falling 6-4, 6-3.
Adel Ismagulova and
Alexa Garcia both dropped straight set matches at #2 and #3 singles leaving the Aggies trailing 3-1. The final match of the day was #4
Isabella Quintero that after dropping the first set 6-0, won the 2nd set 6-3 before taking the 3rd set the distance before losing in the tiebreaker 7-5. The remaining singles matches were left unfinished at the completion of the 4th point for Auburn Montgomery.
The women's team will be back in action February 28th at 10am as they face #2 West Florida in Tyler, TX.
