Alpine, Texas - The Cameron University softball team swept Sul Ross State University Sunday afternoon.
Madysen Boutwell led the way, delivering a standout performance at the plate and driving in key runs to power the Aggies to the series sweep.
In game one, the Cameron University softball team opened the series against Sul Ross State Lobos with a 2-1 win Sunday afternoon. Sul Ross State scored first in the fifth inning to take the lead. Cameron answered in the seventh, as
Kyley Cochran tied the game with a sacrifice fly and
Rylee Ross drove in the go-ahead run. The Aggies held on in the final inning to secure the victory.
In game two, the Cameron University softball team completed the series sweep against the Sul Ross State Lobos with an 8-1 win Sunday afternoon. Sul Ross State scored first in the fourth inning to take the early lead. Cameron responded in the sixth inning with four runs, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Madysen Boutwell and a two-run home run by Haley Gardella. The Aggies added four more runs in the seventh to extend the lead and secure the victory.
