Richardson, Texas — Cameron Women's tennis picked up a 6-1 win in a Lone Star Conference match up against UT Dallas on Saturday afternoon at the UTD Tennis Courts.
In doubles play, Cameron grabbed the first doubles court after
Alexa Garcia and
Daniela Maldonado earned a 6-2 victory on the No. 3 court. No. 31-ranked
Jenna Goessel and
Nil Kalkavan clinched the doubles point for the Aggies with a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court. On the No. 2 court, the match went unfinished.
In singles play, No. 65-ranked
Jenna Goessel picked up a straight set victory on the No. 1 court to put Cameron up 2-0 in the match. UT Dallas picked up a singles point on the No. 2 court after Reika Nagai won due to opponent retirement.
Isabella Quintero earned a 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 4 court over Namrata Makhija. On the No. 3 court,
Alexa Garcia clinched match point for the Aggies after winning the first set 6-2 and the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-3).
Nil Kalkavan defeated Kendall Curley 6-0, 6-2 on the No. 5 court, and
Daniela Maldonado picked up the win on the No. 6 court due to opponent retirement to wrap up the match and make it a 6-1 Cameron win.
