Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. (Nov. 18, 2011) ― Cameron’s women’s basketball team traveled to Pueblo, Colo. for its second game of the season, taking on CSU-Pueblo in the CSU-Pueblo Classic. The Aggies started fast but, in the end, lost a tough game against the Thunderwolves, 71-63.
“Essentially, we played pretty good,” said Head Coach Tom Webb.” We took some things away from them and made them do different things. It all comes back to me. I didn’t do a good enough job of getting this team ready. But, it’s just one game. We’ve got to learn and grow.”
The game started close in the first half and remained that way through to the end. The Aggies (1-1, 0-0) were able to take a four point lead into the locker room, 37-33, at halftime after two lay-ups by senior Alexis Williams in the final minute.
In the second half the momentum went in favor of CSU-Pueblo, as the Thunderwolves pulled ahead and maintained a slight edge until the end. Junior Alexis Williams led Cameron offensively with 19 points, going 7-18 from the field and 5-15 from behind the arc. Senior Sabelle Diata was second on the team, contributing 14 points on 6-16 shooting. Senior Nicole Pendarvis had a solid game from the guard sport, finishing with 12 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three steals.
