LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron ended the week on a winning note getting a 7-2 win over Southwestern Baptist. The #20 ranked Aggies got three wins this week with and now have an overall record of 7-1.
For the third match in a row Cameron earned a clean sweep in doubles. In one doubles the pairing of Nicolai Ferrigno and Dennis Merdan won 8-2. Duje Janjic and Dean Weigelt in two doubles earned an 8-4 win, while in three doubles, Angelo Lencioni and Joao Fazendeiro got a 8-5 victory.
Singles matches proved to be a larger challenge for the Aggie netters. #19 ranked Ferrigno won the first set 6-3 before falling in set two 1-6. He would battle back in the third set, winning 6-3.
In two and three singles Cameron would fall to Southwestern Baptist. However, the Aggies would earn wins in four (Merdan 7-5, 6-1), five (Lencioni 6-1, 6-1), and six singles (Fazendeiro 6-0, 6-1) to win the match 7-2.
Cameron will take the next few days off before traveling to Denver, CO to play Colorado Christian and Metro State on Mar. 8.
