Volleyball Preview: Texas A&M-Kingsville & Arkansas-Monticello

The opponent:

Around the LSC:
There are four Lone Star Conference matches on Friday night and three on Saturday.  On Friday night, Angelo State will be visiting Tarleton State, West Texas A&M travels to Texas A&M-Commerce, and Eastern New Mexico is at Texas Woman's; Midwestern State will be hosting Lubbock Christian in non-conference play.  Saturday will feature Texas A&M-Kingville at Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Commerce hosting Eastern New Mexico, and West Texas A&M at Texas Woman's; Angelo State and Tarleton will both be playing Newman on Saturday in Stephenville. 

Looking back:
The Aggies snapped a four match losing streak with their second sweep of the season over Williams Baptist on Tuesday afternoon. Kendra Adams in her last three matches has had 11 kills in each outing while recording a .264 hitting percentage, and Kat Evans has double-digit kills in each match and hit .272 during that same time-span, 

Looking forward:
Texas A&M-Kingsville will be riding a three match winning streak entering their match with Cameron after getting a pair of LSC wins against Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's in Kingsville and a victory on the road at Texas A&M-International.   At home, the Javelinas are 6-1 this season, however on the road they are 1-4; the Aggies lead the overall series between the two programs at 18-11.  

Kingsville sits atop the LSC in blocking averaging 2.50, second in hitting with .257, and first in service aces, averaging 1.46. The Javelina women are third in the conference in kills per set averaging 11.94 per set this season.

The Cotton Blossoms will be at Northwestern Oklahoma on Friday night and visiting Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday morning for a league match; their game with Cameron on Saturday night will be an unusual doubleheader with stops at two different campuses.

Think Pink:
Friday night is the Cameron volleyball program's annual "Think Pink" which will feature the team in pink themed practice gear.  Limited edition "Play Strong" Cameron Aggies shirts will be on sale in the Aggie Gym Lobby for $5 with the proceeds going toward Cancer Research.

Second to best:
Cameron is second in the Lone Star Conference with 18.23 digs per set, behind Angelo State who is averaging 19.84; nationally the Aggies are 14th best in digs.

On the horizon:
Cameron will hit the road on Oct. 7 to Ada to face East Central in a non-conference matchup.
