LAWTON, Okla. – For head coach James Helvey it was career win number 698 and 699 as Cameron took down UA-Fort Smith 6-3 on the women's side and 7-2 in men's action on Friday afternoon.
 
The #15 ranked men's tennis team struggled out of the gates in doubles by dropping two of their three matches.   Dennis Merdan and Angelo Lencioni was CU's lone doubles win in the one slot by taking down UAFS 8-3. 
 
Singles was a different story though as the Aggies (4-3) for the first time this season swept all six doubles slots.  The win for Cameron is their 11^th in a row at home and they have not dropped a match in Lawton since March, 2012.
 
For the #35 Cameron women they would get wins win the two and three slots in doubles to take the early 2-1 lead over the Lady Lions.
 
In singles competition it was the middle of the Aggies (3-0) lineup that carried the afternoon with wins in slots two through four.  Samantha Wood came away with a pair of wins and remains undefeated for the season with a 6-0 individual overall record.
 
The Aggies will two opportunities to win number 700 for Helvey on Saturday where they will host Metro State at 10 am.
