AUSTIN, Texas – Cameron had a mixed day at on the tennis courts to wrap up a three match road trip at St. Edward's.
The #16 Aggie men handled the #24 Hilltoppers 8-1 in a rematch of last year's NCAA Regional but the #36 Cameron women would be edged out of #46 SEU 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon.
Cameron (12-4) handled St. Edward's who was the third ranked team in the South Central Region with a sweep in singles.
Dennis Merdan battled SEU's Patrick Clynes with two tiebreakers before leaving with a 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win in the top singles slot.
The Aggies only blemish during the afternoon was an 8-5 loss in the number-3 doubles slot.
On the women's side, after starting the season 10-0 the Aggies have dropped two matches in a row.
Cameron was ahead early with a 2-1 advantage leaving doubles but they would struggle in singles competition dropping all but the two and six slot against SEU.
Paula Gutierrez-Casas won in the two slot 6-4, 6-3, and
Antonia Moberg came away with her ninth win of the season in the six slot.
Both Cameron tennis programs will return to action on Monday, March 24 to face Colorado Mesa.
