Aggies face Cowley College for duel match

LAWTON  -- A new look Cameron women's tennis team will hit the court for the first time when they face Cowley College on Tuesday for a neutral site duel in Oklahoma City.

Cameron will have three newcomers, Alina Gorina, Zhenia Shviadok , and Mathilde Thibaudat who should see significant playing time come spring for the Aggies.  Gorina is a senior transfer from Central Oklahoma where she was 46-14 for the Broncos in singles play and was their number-1 player.   Thibaudat came from Northwood (Fla.) where she played her freshman season, and Shviadok is a true freshman from Brest, Belaurs.

Those three newcomers will be paired with a core group that is headlined by Paula Gutierrez who is ranked number-36 nationally in singles.  Gutierrez along with Angie Torres and Samantha Wood are all ranked inside the top-10 in the ITA South Central singles ranking; Cameron has the most ranked in the top-10 in the region.

The Aggies will be looking to find their way back into the NCAA Tournament after missing last season, and returning to the national championships after taking back-to-back regional titles in 2011 and 2012.

Cameron will start the year ranked number-43 nationally and will face a sixth ranked Tiger team.
