LAWTON -- Cameron's spring home opener was dampened by Oklahoma Baptist in a close 5-4 dual on Tuesday afternoon. The Aggies coughed up a 2-1 doubles lead and dropped its top four singles slots to the Lady Bison in the loss.
In doubles play, CU's two and three slots left the courts with a win with the pairing of
Angie Torres and
Samantha Wood getting an 8-4 match win and in the number-3 slot,
Paula Gutierrez and
Mathilde Thibaudat swept their OBU counterparts.
Things turned south for CU in singles play with three set losses in the top singles slot and number-4 slot. Cameron would pick up a 6-2, 6-2 win by
Zhenia Shviadok in the five-slot and a 6-2, 6-1 win by
Magdalena Kovinic in the six-slot.
This was the season opener for OBU and the Aggies will fall to 1-1 overall, they will return to action on Feb. 18 at Southern Nazarene.
