LAWTON -- The number-20 ranked Cameron women's tennis program rolled back Tarleton State 8-1 on Wednesday to open Lone Star Conference play.
Cameron swept all six singles matches with their lone blemish coming in the number-2 doubles slot; the Aggies moved their overall season record to 3-1.
Alina Gorina and
Zhenia Shviadok took the top-doubles slot 8-4, while pairing of
Paula Gutierrez and
Mathilde Thibaudat easily won the number-3 slot 8-1.
In singles play, Gorina and Thibaudat won their singles matches 6-0, 6-1;
Samantha Wood took the number five slot 6-3, 6-3.
Angie Torres won in three sets in the number-2 singles slot 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.
The loss to the Aggies will send the TexAnns to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in league play.
Cameron will not face another LSC program until April 11 where they will host Midwestern State. The Aggies will return to action on March 7 at Southeastern Oklahoma.
