LAWTON – The Aggies powered back from a 5-3 loss in game one to take the nightcap 10-7 over Tarleton State on Sunday.

Cameron (15-7) rallied in the sixth inning to score five runs off four hits to total 12 on the game to split the double header with the Texans.

In game one, Tarleton State withstood ten strikeouts from
Dirk Masters (L, 1-2) and three fielding errors, out hitting the Aggies seven to four.

It was a 1-1 contest until the top of the fifth as Tarleton State would bring in two runs off three hits for the lead. Cameron came within one run of the Texans in the sixth, scoring on an RBI ground out, but TSU answered back in the seventh with one of their own.

Cameron could not capitalize in the bottom of the seventh, leaving one man on base for the 5-3 loss.

Tarleton State got to a hot start in game two, opening with four hits to score five Texans. The Texans led 7-5 heading into the bottom of the sixth, but CU would cycle through its lineup for four hits and five runs themselves to take the nightcap 10-7.

An RBI single tied it up 7-7, and
Cody Knight came up big with a 2 RBI double, scoring
Nate Hale on the go ahead run. CU had one more in store, making it five runs crossing home on a sacrifice fly.

The Aggies had 12 hits and five doubles on the game.
Tyler McKinzie led CU at the plate, getting a hit in all three trips and accounted for four runs; on the double header, he went 5 for 6 and batted in two runs.
Tyler Cook also had three hits, and 2 RBI.

Codey Upton got his third win on the mound, pitching six innings allowing eight TSU hits, while
Tyler Abrego earned his first save.

The Aggies will complete the series with Tarleton State at 1 p.m. on Monday at McCord Field.
