Cameron University Athletics

2017 (Senior): Was the main workhorse coming out of the bullpen for the Aggies during his senior season, going 49 total innings in 21 appearances and only one start. Abrego posted a 3.67 ERA and accumulated a 3-0 record and two saves, while striking out 39 batters and posting a .233 opponents' batting average. Had se3ven scoreless outings throughout the season and tallied five strikeouts at Angelo State on March 26. Named 2nd team All-LSC and to the LSC All-Academic Team.

2016 (Junior): Pitched in 19.1 innings and posted a 4.19 ERA and a 0-1 win/loss record. Abrego had one save in 15 appearances, while striking out six batters. Threw seven scoreless outings throughout the season and had a 3.2 inning without giving up a hit to begin the season.  

Glendale CC: Pitched two years at at Glendale CC... Had a 1-0 record in 25 appearances in his two years there... had 29 strikeouts and a 5.19 ERA in 32.2 innings.

High School: Graduated from Sandra Day O'Connor HS and lettered in baseball... Was named Senior of the Year and helped his team to the Coach Bob National Invitational... was named to the President's Honor Roll three years.

Personal: Son of Carol Abrego and Gavin Gillespie... His sister, Tracey, participated in track and field at Paradise Valley CC... Enjoys hiking and reading in his spare time... Plays the ukulele.
