Cameron University Athletics

2017 (Sophomore): Welch was 3-0 during his sophomore campaign as he appeared in 10 games and started six of those for CU. His in 33.1 innings he struck out 23 batters and held the opposing hitters to hitting under .300 against him. Welch threw a complete game shutout against Easter N.M. on April 3, where he gave up just two hits and struck out six in seven innings of work. 

2016 (Freshman): In relief against Kingsville (3/5), he  pitched 3.1 innings with 3 strikeouts. In his first start as an Aggie, he picked up the win against Tarleton (3/21) with 6 IP and only allowing 4 hits. In the win against #22 Lubbock Christian (4/5), he picked up the win with 5 innings of work. In the game against Kingsville (4/9), he pitched a scoreless 2 innings with 2 strikeouts...

High School: Graduated from Frisco High School... Lettered twice in baseball as a pitcher and third baseman... Named pitcher of the year in his district and helped lead his team to a District 5A Championship.

Personal: Son of Margaret and Stanley Welch... Likes to fish... Favorite MLB team is the St. Louis Cardinals.
