WEATHERFORD – The Cameron baseball team dropped their first non-conference game of the season to Southwestern Oklahoma State in a 4-2 contest on Tuesday afternoon.

The Aggies were previously undefeated in non-conference action through 12 games but could not capitalize against the Bulldogs to move to 23-13 overall.
Â
SWOSU (24-12) out-hit the Aggies 12 to seven. Of CU's seven hits,

Â
Cameron got on the scoreboard first in the second inning scoring on a ground out, and again in the third inning on a sacrifice fly to hold a 2-0 advantage. However, the Bulldogs responded in the bottom of the third to plate a runner on an RBI single and tie the game 2-2 in the fifth in the same fashion.
Â
SWOSU would take the lead in the sixth, edging the Aggies 4-2 on a pair of two out RBI singles. With one out in the top of the eighth inning, Cameron had two runners in scoring position but could not capitalize as a pop up and a foul out followed.
Â
In the ninth inning, Cameron went down in order bringing SWOSU the 4-2 victory.
Â
Matt Glasmann (3-2) was charged with the loss after pitching 5.2 innings where he allowed ten hits and four runs.
