LAWTON – No. 17 Cameron returned to the win column by handling UA-Fort Smith 8-1 on Thursday at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex.
The Aggies carried their record to 17-3 this season and have surpassed their 2015 finish by three wins already with at-least four matches remaining.  Â
Alina Gorina and
Zhenia Shviadok dominated doubles play for the Aggies with an 8-2 win in the top-spot for their eighth win in a row; for the year the pair are 14-4 in CU's top doubles spot. Â
Angie Torres and
Samantha Wood won their tenth match of the season in the two-slot 8-5.
Cameron would fall 8-4 in the three-slot for UAFS' lone point before CU swept singles play for the eleventh time this season. No. 19
Paula Gutierrez won 6-3, 6-0 for her fifth win in a row and moved to 13-3 in dual play, Wood will carry an eight match winning streak with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over the Lady Lions in the five-slot.
Thursday's loss to the Aggies is UAFS' fifth in a row and drops them to 2-14 this season.
The Aggies make a quick turnaround and will host Texas Permian-Basin on Friday at 9 a.m.
