OKLAHOMA CITY -- The #16 Cameron men's tennis team launched their year with a clean sweep over #8 Cowley on Monday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

Doubles play proved to be close for both programs with the Aggies pulling away on the Tigers late in their matches. Both of CU's top two doubles pairings were won by an 8-5 margin, while
Bruno Babic and
Stefam Svicevic in the three-slot came out in front 8-4.

With the three point lead into singles play, the Aggies controlled the rest of the match and took their first 9-0 sweep on Cowley since 2013.
Vinicius Santos won 6-2, 7-6(3) for the first time playing the top-singles spot for the Aggies, while
Felipe Oyarzun and
Mateo Velasco both swept their second sets against the Tigers;
Keiran President won by retirement 7-6(4), 5-2 in CU's six-slot.

The win over Cowley put the Aggies at 1-0, while the Tigers open their year 0-1.
Monday's match is Cameron's lone team dual for the fall with individual play continuing at Midwestern State's Invitational this upcoming weekend and the ITA South Central Regional.
