LAWTON, Okla. –
Reid Garrett pitched a complete nine inning game on the mound en route to the Aggies' 5-1 win over William Jewell on Friday afternoon at McCord Field.

The junior from Richmond, Texas held the Cardinals hitless until the fifth inning and allowed just five hits and one run while striking out four batters. He is now 1-1 on the season.

Offensively,
Jorden Fields,
Micah Kaaukai and
Cody Bower led Cameron at the plate with two hits each. Fields batted in a game high two runs and Kaaukai scored twice himself.

Cameron manufactured four runs in the first inning scoring off opportunities in left field.
Kaaukai started off the scoring with RBI double and Fields plated two more on a single.

Bronson Pulgados wrapped it up with a sacrifice fly for the Aggies' four run lead.

A sacrifice fly in the fifth inning would be the Cardinals' only run to prevent the shutout.

CU tacked on one more run in the seventh as
Anthony Acevedo hit an RBI single down the left field line.

Pitcher Brendan Beatty (0-1) was charged with the loss for William Jewell in their season opener after he allowed four runs in 6.2 innings.

The 8-1 Aggies return to the field tomorrow at 2 p.m. for their second of three games with the Cardinals.
