LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron women's tennis team won in their first official home match of the season, winning 5-4 over Oklahoma Christian. The no. 17 ranked Aggies are now 2-3 on the season.

In doubles, CU won two out of three, as Zhenia Shviadok and Mathilde Thibaudat won 9-8 in a battle in the one doubles spot and Paula Gutierrez and Samantha Wood won 8-4 in the two spot. Magdalena Kovinic and Viola Lugmayr fell 8-4 in their doubles match in the third spot.

The two teams split the matches 3-3 in singles. Shviadok one 6-1, 6-0 in the two singles spot, while Thibaudat won 6-1, 6-3 in the four spot and Lugmayr got the deciding point with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 win in the sixth singles spot.  Gutierrez fell 7-5, 6-2 in a hard fought battle in the one singles spot, while Samantha Wood lost 6-4, 6-2 in the three spot and Kovinic fell 6-4, 6-3 in another tough battle in the fifth singles match.

Central Oklahoma is now 4-4 on the season with the loss.

Cameron will have over a week off from competition before returning to the court on March 10, when they visit Arkansas-Fort Smith to kick off a five match in six days road stretch.
