ARLINGTON, Texas – The Aggie women's tennis team lost a tough fought match in the semifinals of the Women's Lone Star Conference Championships, falling to the three seed Tarleton State 5-4 on Friday evening.
Cameron fell behind 3-0 early in the match as they lost all three of the doubles matches.
However they made a comeback in singles, as ranked singles players
Paula Gutierrez and
Zhenia Shviadok won in the one and two matches and
Mathilde Thibaudat and
Samantha Wood one their respective matches in the three and four spots. Unfortunately, CU fell in both the five and six singles matches, giving TSU the win.
The loss eliminates the Aggies from the conference postseason, and now they will wait for the release of the regional schedule to know when they will play next; they are ranked fourth in the South Central Region. Â Â
