Hedge named first team D2CCA All-Region

LUBBOCK, Texas – Cameron's Maighan Hedge added to her list of accolades on Thursday as she was named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region first team. 
 
This is the second D2CCA All-Region honor for Hedge, who earned the spot back in 2019-20 (All-Region teams were not selected in 2020-21). This season, the Melbourne, Australia native has already been named CoSIDA Academic All-District, first team All-Lone Star Conference, the LSC Academic Player of the Year, and LSC Offensive Player of the Week three times. 
 
Hedge averaged 20.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game this season while shooting 46 percent from the field, 42.5 percent from three, and 87.4 percent from the charity stripe. In four years at CU, she has totaled 1,880 points, 359 rebounds, 358 assists, 145 steals, and 247 three-pointers made. She is the program leader in points, assists, fourth in steals, and second in threes. Hedge's 578 points this season is the third most in a single season in program history. 
 
Joining Hedge on the first team are the region's Outstanding Player of the Year Dyani Robinson from A&M-Commerce, Lubbock Christian's Allie Schulte, CSU-Pueblo's Alisha Davis, and Colorado Mesa's Daniella Turner. The second team is made up of CMU's Mariah Martin, Colorado School of Mines' Denali Pinto, UT Tyler's Liah Davis, Texas Woman's Ashley Ingram, and St. Mary's Hannah Wilson. 
 
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II South Central Region schools and conferences selected the all-region teams. The first team All-Region selections will go on the be nominated for the D2CCA All-America teams, which will be announced on March 18.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
