Golden, CO – Cameron drops road game.
The Cameron Women's Basketball team lost their opening game of the Thanksgiving Classic against Colorado School of Mines.
The stats looked very similar for both teams Cameron shot 36% while CSM shot 39%. The Aggies had the edge on free-throws, shooting 83% compared to CSM's 80%. Where the teams differed was on second chance points and by contributions from the bench. CSM dominated both, scoring 13 more points from second chance shots than the Aggies, while the CSM bench added 26 points compared to 10 added by Cameron's bench players.
Korie Allensworth led all scorers with 19 points which included two three pointers and a perfect 3-3 from the free-throw line.
Shamica Smith pulled down 10 rebounds and eight points on the night.
Cameron plays their final game of the Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 25 at 8:00 p.m. CST when they take on Regis University.
