LUBBOCK, Texas – Daesha Brathwaite led Cameron women's track and field team, qualifying for the finals in the 1500-meter race Saturday at the LCU Soccer and Track Facility.
Brathwaite turned in a 12th-place finish with a time of five minutes and 01.44 seconds to lock in for a spot in the finals on Saturday afternoon. Melohdee Marroquin finished in 21st, crossing the finish line at the 5:18.57 mark.
Saarah Hill placed 22nd in the 200-meter sprint with a finish of 26.01 seconds; in the 100-meters, she crossed 20th place with a time of 12.48 seconds.
Also, in the 100-meter race, Denim Boone finished in 19th with a time of 12.45 seconds, and in 22nd place was Amiah Osborne with a time of 13.34.
Anne de Jong placed 22nd with a time of 1:07.00 in the 400 meters.
Genevieve Young paced the Aggies in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.35 to place 10th, in 16th was Brathwaite running a time of 2:22.83, Marroquin recorded a 20th place finish with a time of 2:24.57, and Malethabo Seema crossed the finish line with a time of 2:24.99 for 21st place.
Belle Vignes ran the 10,000-meter run in 42 minutes and 57.81 seconds to record a 15th-place finish, and in 22nd was Delicia Delgadillo with a time of 45:43.64.
In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Mathilde Winther finished eighth with a time of 13:07.34, and Arian Spears clocked a time of 14:11.15 to place 10th.
Cameron will wrap up the LSC Championships on Saturday.
