Janousek and Milliard Compete Among the Best at ITA Cup

LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University men's tennis team will be sending two representatives to the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia.

The ITA Cup is the fall national championship tournament hosted by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The tournament takes place at the Rome Tennis Center and runs from Oct. 16 through Oct. 19.
 
Lukas Janousek earned an automatic bid to the Division II Men's Singles field after claiming the ITA South Central Regional championship. He will be competing in a field of 16 players, including the winners of the seven other regional tournaments.
 
In the first round of singles play, Lukas Janousek will start the tournament playing Pavlos Parson from Washburn University.
 
Janousek will also compete in doubles play with teammate Noe Milliard. The pair earned an at-large bid into the Division II Men's Doubles field due to their performance at the ITA South Central Regional, making a run to the semifinals.
 
In the first round of doubles, Milliard and Janousek will face Angel Guerrero and Alejandro Flores Monteverde from Biola University.
 
QUOTING COACH COBBLE

"This is the best of the best in Division II this weekend at the ITA Cup. Our region is among the strongest in the country and that is shown by getting in 6 singles players and 4 doubles teams into the event," Coach Cobble remarked, "Lots of things are possible at a tournament this strong, so I expect the guys to compete hard and represent Cameron well, which I know these guys will do."

First serve is set for 11:30 AM, beginning with singles play.
