WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Cameron University men's tennis team continued their strong play on day two of competition at the ITA South Central Regional.
In the Round of 16 in the singles main draw, No. 16 seed
Lukas Janousek picked up a 6-0, 6-0, win over reigning champion Carel Wessel from UT Tyler. No. 6 seed
Noe Milliard fell, 6-3, 6-2, to Lubbock Christian's Andres De Los Rios.
Playing in the quarterfinals of the singles main draw,
Lukas Janousek earned a 5-7, 6-2, 6-0, victory, this time over Lubbock Christian's No. 7 Mattia Ghedin. He moves on to the semifinals of the singles main draw, where he will play No. 11 Malo Poulesquen from UT Tyler.
In the consolation singles draw,
Santiago Ledesma took down Fabian Rosales from St Mary's, 6-3, 6-0, in the Round of 16. In the quarterfinals, he earned a 6-3, 6-2, victory over UT Permian Basin's Kabir Chothani. He moves on to the semifinals of the singles consolation draw, where he will play Rowan Olsen from Midwestern State.
The No.6 doubles pair of Milliard and Janousek won in the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw, upsetting No. 1 Daniil Felker and Carel Wessel from UT Tyler, 8-7 (7-5). The pair then fell in the semifinals, 8-2, to No. 7 Juan David Duque and Bruno Sanchez from Midwestern State.
In the doubles consolation draw,
Lachlan Setina and Eduardo Nunez Del Prado fell to Fabian Rosales and Aaron Ben Anton from St. Mary's, 8-1.
