LAWTON, Ok — The softball team lit up the scoreboard in a doubleheader sweep0 over Texas A&M International, taking Game 1 by a score of 11-3 and cruising to a 9-1 victory in Game 2.
Game 1 Recap: Bats Explode in 11-3 Victory
The Aggies put together an offensive clinic in the opener, racking up 12 hits—including three home runs—in just five innings. A seven-run fourth inning was the turning point, as the Aggies broke the game wide open after holding a narrow 2-1 lead.
Stormee Reed commanded the circle with five strong innings and five strikeouts holding the Dustdevils scoreless through the first three innings.
Texas A&M International was limited to four hits and three runs, as the Aggies defense stayed sharp and Reed earned the win.
Game 2 Recap: Balanced Attack Leads to 9-1 Win
Cameron didn't slow down in the second game, using another explosive inning—this time a five-run third—to seize control early. The Aggies finished with 12 hits for the second consecutive game and kept the pressure on from the first pitch to the final out.
Schmidgal turned in a composed outing, scattering seven hits and just one runs over five innings while not issuing a walk. Boutwell led the charge with a triple and Boren led the team with four RBI's.
