LAWTON, Ok — Cameron softball visited UT Tyler for a Sunday double header and final games of the 2025 regular season, 2-10 and 2-10.
The Aggies finished off their 2025 regular season with a road trip to Texas to face off against Texas Woman's University and UT Tyler. To begin the weekend, Cameron softball swept the Pioneers in a doubleheader on Friday. The Aggies took the first contest in mercy fashion 10-2 and pulled off an amazing seventh inning comeback to take game two 8-6. The two victories cemented Cameron a postseason spot. For their final regular season appearance of the 2025 regular season the team traveled to Tyler, TX.
Earlier in the week on April 20th, Cameron softball was listed No. 9 in the NCAA Division II South Central rankings. At No. 1 was the UT Tyler Patriots who also sit atop of the Lone Star Conference East Division standings with a 40-4 conference record. Prior to Sunday's match up, the Aggies had a 20-22 conference record. Back in March, Tyler took both games in Lawton 0-12 and 1-8.
In game one, Haley Gardella started the scoring in the top of the first inning with her team leading twelfth home run of the season to put the Aggies up early, 2-0. That would be the only runs the Aggies would score for the rest of the game as the Patriots took control. Tyler scored three in the second, three in the fourth and four runs in the fifth to end the game in a mercy, 2-10.
It was a similar story for game two as Cameron scored first in the third inning. Gardella added an RBI to her day with a bases loaded walk to score Kelsey Creech, 1-0. Kyndel McDaniel laced a single up the middle to again put the Aggies up two, 2-0. The Patriots responded big with two runs in the fourth and six in the fifth frame, 2-8. In another walk off mercy victory, Tyler knocked in two runs in the sixth to complete the season sweep, 2-10. Aggies softball has finished their regular season with a 29-23 overall and 22-22 conference record. Cameron is headed into the playoffs after a successful 2025 campaign by second year Head Coach Bryan Howard.
