Odessa, Texas - The Cameron University baseball team split the doubleheader against the University of Texas Permian Basin on Saturday afternoon and split the series.
In the first game, UT Permian Basin got on the board first, scoring a run in the first inning.
Nick Oliveira doubled in the second inning to tie up the game, 1-1. The Falcons then took the lead, scoring three runs in the second inning. The Aggies plated one run in the third and fourth innings to cut the deficit to one run. In the fourth inning, UT Permian Basin scored two runs to take the lead, and held on to win the game.
In the second game the Falcons scored first again, plating three runs to get out to an early lead. The Aggies scored one run in the third inning, then scored two runs in the fourth inning to tie the game. UT Permian Basin answered with two runs in the fifth inning to take the lead again. In the sixth inning,
Carson Dunham hit a 2-RBI doubles to tie the game once again. Kaleb Robers scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to put Cameron ahead 6-5.
Aiden Duggan came in to pitch and earned the save to help Cameron hold on for the win.
